Black Maternal Health

In Trenton, NJ, the alarming disparity in maternal healthcare for Black women has become an urgent concern. Black women are disproportionately affected by inadequate access to quality care, leading to higher rates of pregnancy complications and maternal mortality. Recognizing the pressing need for change, the Greater Mt. Zion Trenton Community Development Corporation (GMZTCDC) has taken up the mission to restore maternal healthcare for the community.

At the forefront of the effort to address the maternal healthcare crisis, we are making remarkable strides by opening two birthing centers. These centers serve as safe havens, offering comprehensive prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care tailored specifically to the needs of Black women.

By providing culturally sensitive and holistic care, we aim to empower mothers and create healthier outcomes for both them and their babies. With our commitment to bridging the gap in healthcare access, the Greater Mt. Zion Trenton Community Development Corporation is fostering a community where every woman receives the support she deserves throughout her pregnancy journey.
